Taylor Hits 5 Million
Taylor Swift has officially sold more than 5 million albums, combining her 2006 self-titled debut (3.7 million units) and this year's Fearless (1.5 million units). She was also named the best-selling country artist of 2008 by Billboard magazine and ranked fourth in sales among all genres. Swift was also named country music's top songwriter of 2008. She appears in the January issue of Vanity Fair is confirmed to headline the second annual BamaJam Music & Arts Festival taking place June 4-6, 2009, in Enterprise, Ala., along side Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn. Also scheduled to perform are Montgomery Gentry, Charlie Daniels, 38 Special, Jason Aldean, Heidi Newfield and Jamey Johnson.

Platinum Baby!
Sugarland's latest album, Love on the Inside, and Tim McGraw's Greatest Hits are on the list of platinum certifications announced by the RIAA. Sugarland's album, their third, has been certified platinum for shipments of more than 1 million copies since it's release on July 22. The McGraw compilation, released in 2000, is now certified sextuple platinum for shipments of 6 million copies.

New Album from Billy Currington
Listening to Bill's new album, you get the feeling that he is the most relaxed country singer since Don Williams. On Little Bit of Everything, he draws on some of those cool sounds from a few generations ago -- with several tunes sounding like they could have fit on an Alabama album from the 1980s. The excellent single "Don't" is one of HTM's EeLee Liao's favorite tracks of 2008.
